How to stick the film
The GuitarNotesfoil are glued to the back of the guitar neck. Due to a special coating, the foil is permanently readable, even under heavy use. The foil can also be removed again without leaving any residue.
Brief instructions: Clean and dry the back of the guitar neck. Peel the film off the backing surface and place the film on the top edge of the guitar neck. The end of the foil should be just below the 12th fret.
Carefully smooth the foil onto the guitar neck using horizontal motions from top to bottom. Once the foil is tight, gently stretch the foil over the surface imperfections. Remove the remaining foil with the help of small scissors.
After about 24 hours, the maximum adhesion of the film is reached.
Step by step guide
Clean the back of the guitar neck from dust and grease.
Make sure that the surface of the guitar neck is dry and undamaged.
Peel the foil off the backing surface.
Place the foil exactly at the top edge of the guitar neck.
Make sure that the foil does not overlap or stick to the frets.
The last line should be exactly under the 12th fret.
Carefully spread the foil onto the guitar neck using horizontal movements from top to bottom. Proceed slowly and patiently (in strips about 4-5 mm wide at a time) until the foil is against the bottom edge of the guitar neck.
The goal of smoothing is to remove air from under the film for stronger adhesion. If a larger spot of air remains under the film, carefully unroll the film to that spot and gently brush out the air bubble.
For classic guitar neck joints to the body, it is necessary to work especially carefully. At this point, patiently proceed from top to bottom, with the horizontal smoothing described above, and once the film is tight, stretch it lightly over the surface imperfections.
Once you have reached the bottom edge of the guitar neck, remove the remaining foil using small scissors so that it does not hang over the frets and is about 1 mm from the edge.
Smooth the entire foil again by hand. After about 24 hours, the maximum adhesion of the film is reached. Done, have fun playing :)
